SCADpro x Ford

Design challenge

Ford is one of the most well-known auto brands. In 2021, Ford collaborated with SCAD to seek more opportunities for brand extension and brand development. After a long time of research, my teammates and I found few directions to help Ford extend their fan base.

Develop

During the next step, we separated the team into different sub-projects with further research and development. Based on my personal experience, I was more focused on Ford safe secondhand.

Design

Due to the agreement, I am not able to share many details. In short, Ford safe secondhand is a program based on the existing Ford Blue Advantage. So with the Ford quality control, everyone can safely buy their car. With the Ford qualification, you can make sure you buy the best-used car without getting an unfair price or any unclear information from private owners.
And my teammates and I made a prototype of the Ford Safe secondhand.  When we were researching, we realized that people like you and I love to see all information all at once, so we made this prototype mainly on the website, simple, straightforward, and neat, just like Ford itself.

Deliverable

While wrapping up the design, my teammates and I realized that our audience would never know a good design without good promotion. Therefore, as the motion designer of the team. I made an infographic motion design video that could raise brand awareness.

Result and Lessons

Working with an international brand as Ford was a new step of the challenge. With the knowledge of their brand guideline, it was not much space for art but design. In the process, I learned about many other forms of design and motion design. As the manager of Ford safe secondhand, I was able to work with my teammates and figure out the prototype for the Secondhand website. I learned that as a manager, it is crucial to hold your own opinion and listen to other's opinions. I'm glad to learn and grow during the process.
